“The picture that you took with your camera is the imagination you want to create with reality.”
Her name is Erica .
The photographer’s name, that is. The model is me 🙂
Just a small cafe with a neon sign was all she needed, and yet from such a humble location, she shot some of my favorite photos I have.
This shoot stands out to me for many reasons. First, of course, was due to Erica’s energy and her dry humor. She’s hilarious.
The other thing I remember so clearly from this shoot was when I met eyes with a boy sitting at a table across the cafe. He looked at me as I happened to glance in his direction. I thought he was someone I knew. For a moment, I froze; that half a second of breathlessness when you run into a person you never thought you’d meet again. One of these photos was taken right at that moment when I locked eyes with that boy. Turns out, I was mistaken; it wasn’t him. But funny how I have a picture of that split second when I really thought I was seeing someone I never thought I’d ever see again.
The things we capture in photographs. Split seconds. Moments that pass in the blink of an eye. Expressions that flit across our faces before anyone sees, before we are even aware ourselves of what we feel. It’s fascinating to see.
Hit me up for a shoot. I’d love to see what you see through your lens.
